Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept transfers for firearms I purchase online?

Yes. We welcome your transfer and offer the lowest transfer fee in western Kentucky. We ask that you fill out our transfer form on this site to help us keep track of your package until it is delivered to us.

Do I need to notify you for an incoming transfer?

Yes. Wait until you have a tracking number, then fill out the form on our site. This lets us know when we need to stay on the premises to sign for your package. As a residential address, shipments are not always delivered during business hours and we don't want your shipment to get sent back.

Tracking says my gun was delivered. When can I come pick it up?

You can generally pick up your firearm same day depending on when it was delivered. We will notify you by phone as soon as we have processed the shipment. We know you've invested a lot in your new gun, so we make every effort to get customers their firearms as quickly as possible.

Why are large blocks of time unavailable?

As this is a single person operation, things like gun shows and holidays will mean the shop is closed for consecutive days. We will update our availability as soon as we know.

I can't make it during your work hours. How can I pick up my firearm?

We will schedule appointments outside of business hours for special situations if we can.

How can I schedule an appointment?

We've tried to make this as streamlined as possible. You can simply book an appointment on our site, no account required. You can also call the shop and schedule that way. If we don't answer, leave a voicemail or text and we will get back to you ASAP.

Why are you open by appointment only?

There are several reasons. First and foremost, this is a gunsmithing shop, not a high-volume gun store. Stopping in the middle of staining a stock or chambering a barrel leads to mistakes and poor craftsmanship. Making appointments helps me prepare my stopping points. Additionally, we have limited parking and shop space, and want to deliver customers the one-on-one service they deserve.

How long will you have my gun?

This depends on the nature of repairs and how many other jobs are going on. We order all replacement parts for each job, so that typically means a 5-7 business day wait for delivery. We try to turn quick jobs around while waiting for parts on other jobs. Some repairs, such as hand rubbed oil stock finishes, can take more time as each coat needs to dry for at least 24 hours, and ten or more coats are often required.
